Mumford & Sons to release second album in September 2012

Mumford & Sons

Mumford & Sons have finally announced the release date for the follow-up to their 2009 debut album ‘Sigh No More’. The band’s new studio effort is set for release on September 24th.

The band made the announcement during their performance at the Pinkpop Festival which took place in The Netherlands over the past weekend. Marcus Mumford said on stage that the new album was finished and Ben Lovett revealed the release date. The record has been produced by Markus Dravs, who also produced ‘Sigh No More’.

Ben Lovett also recently told BBC Radio 1′s Zane Lowe the following about the new album:

“We can’t really come out with any tricks or new sounds because we have the instruments we play and we sing songs. We’ve just made another record that we felt best represented where we got to.”

Below is a video of the band playing a live session for Dutch 3FM Radio where the band also briefly spoke about the new album and played a new song, titled ‘Where Are You Now’.
