Muse have premiered their new single, entitled ‘Survival’, yesterday on BBC Radio 1. The song will serve as the official song for the London 2012 Olympics. ‘Survival’ will be played when athletes enter the stadium, in the lead up to the medal ceremony and also as the theme for all international TV coverage, and you can listen to it below.
Muse frontman Matt Bellamy said at the official press conference today:
“It’s a huge honor to have the track chosen as such a major part of the London 2012 Olympic Games. I wrote it with the Games in mind as it expresses a sense of conviction and determination to win.”
The Devon trio are set to release their new album, entitled ‘The 2nd Law’ in September. The band has also announced a UK tour, which will kick-off on October 24th at Glasgow’s SECC, in support of the follow-up to 2009′s ‘The Resistance’.
